Amritsar’s Golden Temple
We checked in our shoes, covered our hair, washed our feet and made our way in to the Parkarma that surrounds the temple. I was immediately impressed. It was so clean and bright!

The temple’s dome represents an inverted lotus flower which is a symbol of Sikh devotees’ aim to live a pure life.
It sits in the middle of the sacred pool, Amrit Sarovar (pool of Nectar), which gave the town its name.
